EGEE Industry Day, 12 July 2006 Ischia, Italy
The EGEE Industry Day, organised in Ischia on 12th July 2006, wished to focus on how Grid computing enables enterprises and institutions to do more with less, deploying resources for new projects and improving time to market for new products.
Representatives from public and private institutions such as Microsoft Italia, the University of Messina, IBM Italia & Gempliss Srl and CNIPA presented some of their ongoing initiatives available to businesses and governmental institutions demonstrating their solutions of deploying grid technology in their business or institution.
Moreover, a range of business representatives had registered to exchange experiences including representatives from: Ricoh company Ltd, University of Naples, CNR - Milan Institute of Technology, e-voluzione srl, LAit SpA, the National eScience Centre, Atos origin and more.
The EGEE Industry Day was held on the afternoon of 12 July 2006 in conjunction with the International Summer School on Grid computing, which is taking place in Ischia, Italy (near Naples), venue Jolly Hotel Ischia, from Sunday 9 to Friday 21 July 2006.
