Business Intelligence & Grid Solutions meeting the Finance Sector.

Hosted by the Pisa “” and co-organised with , the EGEE, and projects, the 6th EGEE Industry Day will provide a platform to examine risk-management, current experiences and challenges, implementation and future opportunities for Finance institutions to use Grid technology in their everyday work environments in general and the EGEE (Enabling Grids for e-Science) Grid technology, in particular.

 

Grid Analysts state a 30% increase in just the last 3 years making 100% of the top 20 investment banks now using Grid is some way or another. With an ever-growing need for mass data computing and as Grid moves into retail banking, asset management, and insurance, now is the time to act, now is the time to seek better ways to manage your business.

The event will bring together decision makers, CEOs, CTOs both as speakers and participants from Research and Business organisations at the cutting edge of Grid related technology and the Finance sector.


Take advantage of the multiple opportunities available over the 3 days which are organised as follows:

 

24 January - features the international workshop which addresses key issues on Business Intelligence in Finance, Credit and Operational Risk Management and Internationalisation in collaboration with the EC funded project MUSING - Multi-Industry, Semantic-based, Next Generation Business Intelligence Project.

 

25 January - The largest European Grid infrastructure - the EGEE Project – will discuss industry involvement with the participation of private enterprises already deploying and vending Grid software solutions in the Finance sector presenting real-life scenarios.

 

26 January - Half a day presentation on the public Grid set up for the Italian Economic and Finance Research Community.
During this half-day session, EGRID will present and discuss its implementation. The infrastructure builds upon the public Italian INFN Grid and the public European EGEE Grid, it caters to the needs of select Italian research projects in those fields, and it is funded by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR). The final release of the infrastructure, which successfully addresses crucial data management issues, will be presented and discussed in detail. Significant EGRID user experiences will also be presented. The session will end with a hands-on demo using the EGRID Portal.
