OGF20/EGEE User Forum, 7-11 May 2007, Manchester, UK
The EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE) project provides the world’s largest production grid infrastructure for applications. The EGEE infrastructure provides infrastructure services and a range of user support services to an increasing number of diverse user communities. The EGEE User Forum is one of the strategic event of the entire project and a key moment to relate with other initiatives and communities.
The workshop "Towards professional grid qualifications" will be held on Monday 7 May from 16:00 - 17:30 during the Open Grid Forum. To learn more on this workshop, please click here. The second User Forum takes place 9-11 May 2007 - co-located with OGF20, 7-9 May 2007, Manchester, UK. This combined event will further strengthen the links between EGEE and the Open Grid Forum (OGF), bringing users and standards bodies together to ensure that the future of the Grid is complemented by the establishment of key standards. The User Forum hallmark is the ample space devoted to discussions between users and the service providers, and the interactive demonstration of the status of prototypes and of the applications already in production status. The event will foster proper dialogue outside the scientific communities, exploring co-operation opportunities between research and industry. This is an important opportunity for innovative applications to establish contact with EGEE and the wider Grid community, learn about the latest technological advances, and discuss the future evolution of Grid. OGF20 Enterprise Workshops co-hosted by EGEE Industry Forum, 9 May 2007 Three Workshops on Enterprise Requirements in specific industries are co-presented by the Enterprise Grid Requirmentens (EGR) Working Group, the Enterprise Area of OGF, and the EGEE Industry Forum. - Workshop on Pharma, Biotech and Life Science Use of Grids: Enterprise Requirements (9.00am-12.00pm); - Workshop on Auto & Aerospace Firms' Use of Grids: Enterprise Requirements (2.00-3.30pm); - Workshop on Financial Services Enterprise Requirements (4.00-5.30pm). These Workshops wil be followed by a Cross-Industry Requirement Discussion (6.00-7.30pm). These Workshops will explore key challenges and issues relevant to specific sectors. The main outcomes will be a White Paper.
was held at CERN 1-3 March 2006. It provided a special opportunity for the users’ communities to interact both with the EGEE project and amongst themselves. The event attracted some 250 attendees and 90 technical contributions in the forms of demos, posters and oral contributions. |
