EU-IndiaGrid Project announces its next training and workshop on Earth, Atmospheric & Material Sciences

Jointly organised by C-DAC, Pune University and ICTP, the next EU-IndiaGrid event focuses on Grid technology for Atmospheric, Earth and Material Sciences. The event will take place in Pune from 24 to 28 September 2007.

Grids are a key enabler for research, development and global science, providing access to vast scientific and computing resources with a relatively small investment. The new research infrastructures developed by Europe enable both EU researchers and their peers across the globe to work together as a virtual organisation, accelerating and enhancing results in a wide range of domains.

Training plays a fundamental role in enabling researchers to use the Grid. Dedicated networking events are key to demonstrating the benefits of Grid technology.

The combines both components for added value, bringing together players from the Atmospheric, Earth and Material Sciences to explain how new users can come on board the EU-IndiaGrid computing environment with all the tools required by researchers to carry out simulations using various models either as a stand-alone or in combination.
